Junior and Senior Internship Program

 SENIOR INTERNSHIP PROGRAM

The Senior Internship Program is one of the privileges granted for 12th grade students who have gained the specific qualifications to apply for this superb experience.

The program is an excellent opportunity to intern at a business of their choice for three weeks at the end of the senior year. Students are able to consider potential avenues of interest as well as potential employers. Students may not have an internship in a family business or one operated by a relative or close friend. All requests must be approved by the EA Senior Internship Committee.
Some of the factors that are checked before acceptance to this program are: academic, behavior, attendance for the second semester, service learning completion, etc.
 
 
 

Some of the benefits of the program are:

  • Enrichment of student’s CV

Gain knowledge of the industry or area in which they want to pursue a career
  • 
Get to know the works of “real life work experience”
 
All students must choose a book related to the area or industry in which they worked. They later present a report on the book and also present about the experience they had at their Internship to a panel of Teachers and Administrators.

Interested in Hosting a Senior Intern?

We are looking for opportunities in companies that are willing to host an intern during the month of May.

We ask participating companies that the tasks assigned to interns are enriching learning experiences.

The students’ direct supervisors will be asked to complete an evaluation form at the end of the internship. In addition, Escuela Americana will supervise that interns comply with the established dispositions by the company through "in-situ" visits and follow-up with each Host Company or institution.

JUNIOR INTERNSHIP PROGRAM
 
The Escuela Americana Alumni Council in coordination with the Upper School Counseling Office promotes the Junior Internship Program to provide students with internship opportunities during their summer vacation.

The objective of this program is to offer students the opportunity to use their summer vacation to gain work experience, learn about the industry in which they are interested in pursuing their higher education, and enrich their curriculum making it more attractive for universities.

Space for the Junior Internship Program is limited and depends on the number of openings available in the companies offering positions.

Interested in Hosting an Intern?

We are looking for opportunities in companies that are willing to host an intern during their summer vacation. Internships should be between 3-4 weeks during the months of June or July.

We ask participating companies that the tasks assigned to interns are enriching learning experiences. Students participating in this program have been pre-selected by a group of teachers and alumni and their participation is voluntary. They have shown interest, maturity and a high sense of responsibility and commitment to play a good role within a company.

The students’ direct supervisors will be asked to complete an evaluation form at the end of the internship. In addition, Escuela Americana will supervise that interns comply with the established dispositions by the company through "in-situ" visits and follow-up with each host company or institution.
