Meet Ms. Tami Ballard

As the Elementary Director, I am honored to lead a division where children are known, valued, and supported as they develop academically, socially, and emotionally. Our dedicated educators foster a culture of curiosity, creativity, and collaboration—encouraging students to take ownership of their learning while building strong character. I am deeply committed to partnering with families and the wider school community to ensure that every child thrives in an environment that is inclusive, joyful, and purposeful. Together, we are preparing our students to become thoughtful, confident individuals who contribute positively to the world around them.

Meet Mr. Greg Barnes

After living, learning & working with the EA community for years, I’m happy to have the opportunity to take our High School division to new and exciting places in 2025-2026 as its Director. Change is a constant part of life, and our school is no exception. We are ready to help the students under our care to discover themselves, grow into young adults, and prepare for success by facing the challenges that High School presents together.

We prioritize providing transformational, authentic, and rigorous learning experiences, building a stronger community that values each student as a unique individual, and fostering growth as a key part of learning to empower future-ready leaders.

As we embark upon this journey of discovery together, we are committed to effective communication between all the stakeholder groups involved in this wonderful community. We know from experience in life that no one can hope to be successful in isolation, and that the growth we strive for becomes easier to achieve by working together. The knowledge that we all need help at times, and that the help we need is close at hand, creates a structure of support that enables us to guide each other as human beings, both young and adult.

Finally, we are committed to building a culture of kindness here at Escuela Americana. The world in the 21st century can be a harsh place, full of challenges and disappointments, and none of us knows the load that the people around us carry every day. It is critically important that we remember that by supporting each other as members of our extended family, we find the support that we need as well.
