Our elementary program, which spans pre-kinder through fifth grade, offers academics combined with engaging activities that make learning exciting and fun. Small class sizes facilitate individualized attention that enables each student to learn at his or her own level.
Our teachers strive to meet each student’s individual needs. During these years, our students are given the skills to become autonomous and disciplined learners.
Through our Character Building Program, we reinforce Escuela Americana’s core values and students learn about these character traits: respect, responsibility, kindness, honesty, fairness, and courage. Our “whole child” approach is supported by our discipline system where we look to empower students to be responsible for their behavior and to solve problems by making good choices.
We offer a program that is developmentally appropriate and rich in the elements of structure and play. Our goal is to build a firm basis for future success in school.
Our program reflects care and attention to the social, emotional, cognitive, and physical growth of children as well as preparation for the more formal elements of schooling. We offer a balance of indoor and outdoor activities, and our curriculum includes reading readiness, art, music, library, physical education, math, science, and social awareness. The program focuses on developing a child’s language skills in Spanish and English language. Exposure is gradually introduced in order to foster familiarity and basic preparation.
During the first year up to first grade, a child’s growth is evaluated on all academic areas, as well as on specific areas of development such as: social-emotional, physical, and intellectual development."
