TROJAN HOUSES
OUR TROJAN HOUSE COLOR PROGRAM PROVIDES POSITIVE COMMUNITY BUILDING ACTIVITIES TO STRENGTHEN OUR EA COMMUNITY.
All students, faculty, and staff are assigned a House Color and will work together as a whole House, PK3 - 5th grade, earning House Points and building a greater sense of community in the process.
Each house (Yellow, Green, Purple, and Orange) has approximately 175 students and 30 staff members as part of each of the four Houses.
TROJAN TOKENS
The House Color Program, as part of our Positive Behavior and Values initiative, rewards students with Trojan Tokens for embodying our mission: For a Whole Life: Connect, Create, Explore and our community values: Responsibility, Integrity, Courage and Kindness.
Tokens are awarded for positive behaviors like helping others, participating in class, and making safe choices. This program strengthens community bonds among students and staff, with tokens given by teachers, cafeteria staff, and the librarian. Students love being recognized and contributing to their House Color communities.
HOUSE COLOR CAPTAINS
The 4th and 5th grades played a vital role in establishing House Captains, with 5th-grade students applying for positions and delivering short speeches to their peers. Each House elects two 5th-grade Captains and one 4th-grade Co-Captain annually.
This program aims to promote a positive school community, fostering new friendships, citizenship skills, and stronger relationships with staff.
TEACHER INVOLVEMENT
Faculty and staff play a crucial role in the success of the Trojan Tokens and House program by recognizing and rewarding positive student behavior.
From the first day of school, all faculty and staff distribute tokens among students exhibiting our school mission and positive behaviors.
This keeps everybody engaged and excited about the program, fostering an active participation that supports a dynamic and inclusive school environment.
CELEBRATION
At the end of each month, we celebrate House Point totals during assemblies, led by the House Committee.
These assemblies vary each month but consistently celebrate House Points and positive student behavior, ensuring everyone has the opportunity to be recognized.
